I´m always asking myself this type of question.
I was depressed for many years and it was difficult to enjoy life in general. Now that I´m older, I found many tools that help me appreciate life and I don´t feel depressed anymore. However, I´m always analyzing my behavior, is like constantly checking for red flags, in case that feeling becomes overwhelming again.
So whenever something happens that triggers an emotional reaction, I need to become extra rational. Ask myself questions to help me understand why I´m feeling and reacting in a specific way.
I usually preserve myself a lot from those triggers, but you cannot hide forever.
Every once in a while it happens and I feel out of balance.
Today I felt triggered, but I´m not going to let it win.
Put those feelings and emotions together and convert them into something good.
